(ECO) ERDEMIR RANKS 30TH AMONG WORLD'S BIGGEST MANUFACTURERS OF STEEL.
ANKARA, Jul 15, 2010 (TUR) -- Turkey's Erdemir Group climbed up 20 steps and was ranked as the world's 30th biggest manufacturer of steel in 2009.In a written press release issued Thursday, the Association of Iron and Steel Manufacturers of Turkey said that the Erdemir Group ranked 30th among the biggest manufacturers of steel in the world in 2009 with 6.5 million tonnes of steel manufactured in that year alone.
Erdemir Group ranked 50th in 2008 with an annual steel production of 6 million tonnes.
Erdemir Group was Europe's fifth biggest manufacturer of steel in 2009, excluding Russian manufacturers.
Erdemir was ranked as Europe's ninth biggest manufacturer of steel in 2009, including Russian manufacturers.
