(CUL) ISTANBUL'S PERA MUSEUM TO HOST ARTISTS FROM LEADING ART SCHOOL.
A total of 111 pieces by 66 artists from New York's "School of Visual Arts" will be displayed at Pera Museum until October 4.
The exhibition titled "Octet: Selected Works from the School of Visual Arts" will feature artworks of painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography and digital arts, all created by faculty, alumni and students of the Fine Arts Department of the School of Visual Arts.
Works of Turkish artists Elif Uras and Soner On will be on display during the exhibition as well.
The exhibition, curated by Suzanne Anker and Peter Hristoff, will comprise of eight categories describing contemporary visual art.
The categories are Word As Image, Post-Pop and Tabloid, Material Matters, The Corporeal and the Divine, World Dramas, Narrative Imperatives, Relational Aesthetics and Identity & Identity Politics.
New York School of Visual Arts is one of the leading art institutions in USA that has upheld its mission and vision for approximately the last 60 years of training professional artists and/or individuals excelling in related fields.
The Pera Museum, which opened its doors in early June 2005, is the first step of a comprehensive cultural endeavor that the Suna and Inan Kirac Foundation has launched in order to provide cultural service on a variety of levels.
