(CUL) FAMOUS JAZZ MUSICIAN TO GIVE CONCERT IN ISTANBUL.

ISTANBUL, Oct 25, 2010 (TUR) -- Worldwide famous jazz pianist and composer Kenny Barron will give a concert in Istanbul.

The concert will take place at the Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall on October 30.

Born in Philadelphia in 1943, Barron gained recognition when he took the piano chair in the 1960s Dizzy Gillespie quartet. He co-led the groups Sphere and the Classical Jazz Quartet.He has been nominated nine times for Grammy Awards and for the American Jazz Hall of Fame. For over 25 years, Barron taught piano and keyboard harmony at Rutgers University in New Jersey. He now teaches at the Juilliard School of Music.
