'We Welsh have loads of style'.

Byline: By SARAH DREW JONES Western Mail

Debenhams in Cardiff had never seen anything like it. Welsh design wonder Julien Macdonald swept into town last night to launch his first Designers at Debenhams diffusion range, Star, and he brought the place to a sequin-covered standstill.: But is Star any good?:What can eager Julien fans and fashion-savvy shoppers expect from the new Star range, now available at Cardiff Debenhams? Well, lots of eveningwear: sparkly one-shoulder tops and halternecks, in silky satin, soft fine jersey and delicate lace. The styles are sexy, without being too youth-orientated.

There are rainbow coloured dresses, many cut on the bias, diagonally across the leg in a signature Julien detail. Cardigans are trimmed with black maribou feather and nip in at the waist...underneath, camisoles shine out in peacock blue, hot fuchsia pink and sophisticated dove grey.

The range is high-octane glamour and everywhere sparkle is provided in the form of diamante trims, sequins and beading.

It's the perfect wardrobe for party season, and Julien offers his own picks of the range, 'I have lots of favourite pieces in the collection, but I'd have to say the rainbow dress, the lace-tipped camisole top, and the bag with the little sparkly chain are stand-outs for me!'
