'The magic of life is in its mystery'.

DOHA INDIAN magician Ramakrishnan Malayath believes a magician can transform a person, sometimes even a crowd, if the magician has knowledge of hypnotism.

"Hypnotism is a scientific method to interact with one's subconscious mind. A magician who is an expert in hypnotism can make positive changes in a person or a group. A hypnotist can design a mind and influence his/her character, A[yen] Ramakrishnan Malayath popularly knows as RK Malayath said in Doha.

Malayath was in Doha to introduce 'Mind Designing' technique among students and employees with corporate companies.

He was accompanied by magician and wife Nirmala Malayath and son Rakin Malayath. Malayath claims that this is the only performing family of magicians in India at present.

Speaking to Qatar Tribune, RK Malayath said, "Magic is not merely entertainment to me and my family. It is a strong medium to say something and do something for the betterment of society, environment and integrity of a nation or something beyond. A[yen]

As an individual and an activist, Malayath's life is quite inspiring.

Now, Malayath is planning a global tour with a new technique called 'Mind Design'- a combination of hypnotism and magic.

"It has been proven; through this technique we can terminate many bad habits like smoking and addiction to tobacco products. It has been proven scientific and has returned positive results, A[yen] Malayath said.

He believes that his experiments in hypnotism and magic will give good results. His experiments to use magic as a tool to create awareness on many subjects such as national integration, AIDS awareness programmes and anti-smoking campaigns were a great success.

There are not many magicians in India who have proven success both in magic and hypnotism. "I believe my new experiment will give more recognition and authenticity to magic, A[yen] Malayath said.

Malayath was very curious about the mystery of the life from his early childhood. Still, he believes so. "The only interest of human life is its mystery. Science and technology has limitations to unveil and explore the totality of life. The magic life will end where mystery ends. A[yen]

His own story itself of this magician reveals his commitment to magic. Malayath recollected the memories and said, "It was my early 20s. I was an employee with a leading insurance company in India. Once, Company denied the eligible casual leave requested by him for performing National Integration Magic Programme organised in India. Malayath petitioned to the Prime Minister of India. In revenge, New India Assurance terminated Malayath charging false allegations. But, later he was reinstated consequent to the strong intervention by cultural and political leaders like late Kerala chief minister EMS Naboothirippad, film maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan, writers Vaikkom Mohammed Basheer, KT Mohammad, Justice V.R. Krishnayyar, Govindapillai.

Malayth has also led the cultural procession by Kerala Shastra Sahithya Parishath and in 1984 and represented Kerala in the national integration rally from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and organised National Integration magic workshop at Thiruvananthapuram.

He has also led a Communal harmony magic rally from Kasargod to Trivandrum in 1992 and Road safety awareness magic in 1993. National Integration Magic Show in front of Indian Parliament House in 1996, Awareness programme against communalism and AIDS in 1998 organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Martyrs of Indian Army, National Integration Magic on the uphill of Himalayas, Anti Drug Magic shows in Kerala during 2001 and anti war photo exhibition on Nagasaki and 'Hiroshima' sponsored by Hiroshima Institute of peace, Mental Health Awareness Magic for the welfare of mentally challenged in 2005 and 'Vismaya Prabhashanam' - a unique blend of magic and oratory were the successful programmes among many others performed by Malayath.

The awards conferred to Ramakrishnan Malayath were included 'Social Awareness Kerala Award', 'K. Bhagyanath FANTASIA Award' instituted by Indian Magic Acadamy, 'Magic par Excellence Award' from Dubai Crescent English Media, 'Ekata Award' from Sharja Bhalabharathi for the contribution towards National Integration, 'Magic Ratna Award', 'Sahrudaya Award A[yen] instituted by Kerala Readers & Writers Circle in recognition for the works done against communalism and Kerala Government's Award for the comprehensive contribution rendered to magic.
