Robinson, chairman and chief executive officer of Morgan Creek Productions. The film is directed by Tony Scott ("Top Gun," "The Last Boy Scout"), produced by Samuel Hadida, Steve Perry and Bill Unger, and written by Quentin Tarantino ("Reservoir Dogs"). In this passionate, hard-edged story, two unlikely lovers double- cross the Detroit mob by unwittingly stealing a load of valuable contraband. The couple flees to Los Angeles, where their plan to sell the goods and vanish together forever sets them on a collision course with both gangsters and police. "True Romance" is an explosive mix of razor-sharp wit, gritty action and modern love.
The creative team on the film includes director of photography Jeffrey Kimball ("Top Gun," "Beverly Hills Cop II"), production designer Benjy Fernandez ("Revenge," "Days Of Thunder"), costume designer Susan Becker ("Days Of Thunder"), and editor Michael Tronick ("Less Than Zero," "Midnight Run").
Slater's film credits include Morgan Creek's blockbusters "Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves" and "Young Guns II," as well as "Pump Up The Volume," "Heathers," "Mobsters," "Kuffs" and the recently completed "The Baboon Heart."
Arquette recently completed "Trouble Bound," co-starring Michael Madsen. Her other film credits include the upcoming "Ethan Frome," "Far North," "Indian Runner" and "Nightmare On Elm Street III - The Dream Warriors," as well as HBO's "Tales From The Crypt."
Director Scott's "Top Gun" was one of the top-grossing films of all time; his other films include "The Last Boy Scout," "Revenge," "Beverly Hills Cop II" and "Days Of Thunder."
"True Romance" is scheduled to be released domestically in Summer 1993 by Morgan Creek Productions through its ongoing distribution relationship with Warner Bros. Morgan Creek International retains the distribution rights in the United Kingdom while August Entertainment will distribute throughout the rest of the world.
