'TODAY'S ENVIRONMENT' LAUNCHES NATIONAL NEW SERIES
TO EXPLORE CORPORATE ENVIRONMENT ROLES; ED BEGLEY JR. TO HOST
BOCA RATON, Fla., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Can corporate America contribute to the environmental solutions and not just the problems? Yes, and already doing so, according to research conducted by Five Star Productions, USA. This July 4th, its television series "Today's Environment", will debut nationally and highlight some significant trends. "There are a lot of success stories and an equally large number of efforts and corporate resources being waged by concerned individuals on all fronts" says Executive Producer Scott Woolley, "We have seen an infinite amount of business programs that are proactive and not just responses to regulations."
"Today's Environment" examines the roles, advances and achievements taking place across the country and around the world. The weekly show takes a close look at corporate America, industry, individuals and their contributions towards preserving and revitalizing the world's environment. It uncovers those in their respective industries that get involved and use their company's resources to help such problem areas as solid waste disposal, air and water pollution, product packaging, recycling and energy resource problems.
The series addresses the effects of "Green Marketing" as it's known in the business world. Is it a passing fad, or a fact of doing business in the 90s? The answers have geared the show up for a long run. "The response has been overwhelming," adds Woolley, "we are already committed to a second 13 weeks and we've yet to air our first episode. To us it is a clear demonstration of the need and abilities of private and public sectors working towards the common goal of earth preservation."
Five Star also announced that Ed Begley Jr., considered to be one of the most environmentally conscious actors in Hollywood, will host the series. In addition to his acting career Ed is also an active board member of such groups as the Environmental Leadership Forum, The League of Conservative Voters, the Earth Communication Office, and the America Oceans Campaign to name a few.
Begley Jr., has already completed his work on the show's first 13 episodes. Although he's appeared in numerous television shows and movies over the years, it is probably his Emmy-nominated portrayal of Dr. Victor Ehrlich, on NBC's long-running series "St. Elsewhere" for which he is best remembered.
The series will be included in the American medical Television's "Healthstyles" programming. It is scheduled to air on CNBC each Saturday beginning July 4th, at 1:30 p.m. E.S.T, and on the Discovery Channel, Sundays beginning July 5th at 9 a.m E.S.T. The series is sponsored in part by a grant from Paul Mitchell Salon HairCare.
