'TARGETING BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES IN LATIN AMERICA' PROGRAM TO BE HELD IN GREENSBORO, N.C., JUNE 24

GREENSBORO, N.C., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- A program, "Targeting Business Opportunities in Latin America," will be held on June 24 at the Holiday Inn Four Seasons Hotel in Greensboro beginning at 8:30 a.m. It has been organized by Aurora International, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Research Triangle World Trade Center.
"In an increasingly competitive environment, international trade and investment are of crucial importance to North Carolina firms," stated Steve B. Stevenson, president of Aurora International, a conference organizer. He added: "The economies of Europe and Japan are now in low growth or even recession. American companies need to consider markets right in their own back yards, if they are to be successful in the emerging world economy."
The unique meeting will enable attendees to receive current market information and knowledge from experts conducting business in Latin America. International business persons representing furniture, hosiery, textile, apparel, processed food and general equipment manufacturers will make presentations, lead breakout sessions and participate in panels.
In addition, international service providers, including NationsBank, Moore & Van Allen, Rogers & Brown Custom Brokers, Inc. & Freight Forwarders as well as Sedgwick James and Deloitte & Touche will offer knowledge and advice on diverse topics regarding the conduct of business in Latin America, such as international business ine?s, protection of intellectual property, managing currency risk, financing international business transactions and reducing risks in Latin markets.
The luncheon keynote speaker, Elena Espinosa, the Mexican Trade Commissioner, will provide an update on the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and inform about new business opportunities in Mexico.
"This will be a good program for companies new to the international business arena and to seasoned players. Ninety-five percent of the world's marketplace is outside the United States. Whether a company is providing a service or selling a manufactured product, this would be an ideal program for them to attend," advised Stevenson.
The cost to attend and participate in the program is $99, which includes tuition, materials and the conference luncheon. To learn more about the meeting and to register, telephone (919)665-9663. For further information, contact Aurora International at (919)481-9349.
