'T-Bird at Ako' in UP Diliman.

Danny Zialcita's 1982 film "TBird at Ako," digitally restored and remastered by ABSCBN Archives and Central Digital Lab, premieres Feb. 25, 7 p.m., at the UPFI Film Center, UP Diliman. The movie stars Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos in a rare collaboration.

It is a landmark film not only because it showcases Zialcita's unique filmmaking style, but also because it tackled gay identity issues way ahead of its time.

Leo Katigbak, head of ABSCBN Special Projects and Film Restoration told the Inquirer, "It is uncommon for big stars to act in a film that touches on gay themes. Also, it is one of Zialcita's more memorable films with intact material."

"TBird" is the archives' 77th restoration in four years. The screening is open to the public. Call 9262722 or 9263640.
