'Strictly' axe Katya Virshilas - but keep James Jordan.

Summary: The BBC has confirmed professional dancer Katya Virshilas will not return for the next series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

Professional dancer Katya Virshilas will not return for the next series of 'Strictly Come Dancing' the BBC has confirmed.

The 28-year-old has partnered Phil Tufnell, Gavin Henson, Dan Lobb and Simon Webbe during her time on the show but has never won the coveted glitter ball trophy.

It is thought the Lithuanian-Canadian dancer has been given the boot to make way for fresh talent and a BBC spokesperson said: "We'd like to thank Katya for her wonderful contribution to the show. She will very much remain part of the Strictly family."

All of the other professionals from last year will be returning including James Jordan, who had an on-screen fall-out with judge Craig Revel Horwood during last year's series.
