'Shop around' power advice.

Teessiders who get their energy from npower are being advised to switch suppliers - by the industry watchdog.

Energywatch said a 3.9pc electricity price hike by npower should inspire customers to look elsewhere for their energy. Just last week energywatch named npower as the company with the worst performance in billing customers, as it launched its new Better Billing campaign. "This new increase is seriously off-message," said energywatch chairman Ann Robinson. "We advise npower consumers to shop around and see if a switch to another company can save them money. That is the best message of all."
