'STRONGEST' SEXTUPLET BABY DIES AT 2 MONTHS; Tragedy after care move.

Byline: EMILY COOK

SEXTUPLET Kerrie Conway has died - just as she appeared to be winning her fight for life.

The two-month-old gained weight and was thought to be one of the strongest of her three sisters and two brothers.

She and another of the tots who was progressing well had just been moved to a local hospital from the Royal Victoria in Belfast.

Kerrie died on Monday night. No further information was given.

Parents Nuala and Austin Conway from Dunamore, near Cookstown in Northern Ireland, are said to be "distraught". The family's publicist Max Clifford said yesterday: "Our hearts go out to the mum and dad and we hope the others are going to be fine."

Nuala, 26, gave birth to Ursula, Austin, Shannon, Karla, Eoghan and Kerrie by caesarean section on May 22. Born 14 weeks prematurely, they were conceived naturally and have been in constant intensive care.

Mr Clifford said: "Ironically Kerrie and one of the others were moved because they were considered to be the strongest and doing best of all."

The UK's last sextuplets were the Walton sisters from Liverpool. They turned 25 in November.
