'Riverdale' Star Camila Mendes Is Done With Dieting.

Girls everywhere are obsessed with being thin, so much so that they refuse to eat and work out excessively just to obtain svelte figures. "Riverdale" star Camila Mendes used to be the same way.

Mendes had a life-changing realization recently after talking with a naturopath expert. The actress decided that she'd rather be healthy than thin, so she is "done with dieting."

In an ( empowering Instagram post , the actress made a commitment to pursue her other passions such as education, cinema, and music instead of worrying endlessly about being thin. She told other girls that the thought that they'd be happier if they were thinner isn't true, and there are a lot of things they should consider first in their quest to losing weight.

"Your body type is subject to genetics, and while eating nutrient-dense foods and exercising regularly will make you healthier, it will not necessarily make you thinner, and the current system fails to make that distinction," she wrote. "I'm sick of the toxic narrative that the media consistently feeds us: that being thin is the ideal body type. A healthy body is the ideal body type, and that will look different for every person."

Aside from these things, Mendes also adores fashion, and she loves how The CW show had fun interpreting the stylish clothes of her character, Veronica Lodge, and her best friend, Betty Cooper.

Mendes earlier told ( People that she appreciates how the show stays true to the comic book fashions, all the while breathing new life into their personalities.

"I think there's something to embrace about how consistent they [Betty and Veronica] are and I think that's what brings it to the comic book world, because the characters are so set in stone," she said. "We definitely like to explore different facets of their personality, but at the end of the day, what makes it so nostalgic is how true to their selves they are."

However, Mendes admitted that she normally does not dress up the same way as Veronica. During regular days, she's much happier with casual and comfortable outfits.

"Veronica is way more dressy than I will ever be! I'm more laid-back; the less I have to think about my outfits, the better. I prefer to have a bunch of classic pieces I can mix and match, and just keep it simple with minimal jewelry," she told ( Racked.
