'Punjab Nahin Jaungi' stars coming to Dubai.
Summary: Actors Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat will be in the UAE on August 24 for a two-day promotional event
She may not be headed to Punjab anytime soon, but that isn't going to stop Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat from paying a visit to Dubai to promote her new film, Punjab Nahi Jaungi (I am not going to Punjab), which is scheduled for release on August 31.
Hayat, along with actor-producer Humayun Saeed, and Ahmad Ali Butt, will be headed to the emirate on August 24 for a two-day promotional blitzkrieg for their film, with director Nadeem Baig in tow.
The quartet has a packed schedule for their brief visit according to organisers Parallel Lines, with a press conference at noon on Thursday, followed by media interviews and a fan interaction at Vox Cinemas, Deira City Centre, at 7pm on the day. Other public fan events are also being scheduled for Friday, but details of these have yet to be announced.
Produced by Saeed's Six Sigma Entertainment and ARY Films, Punjab Nahi Jaungi is reportedly the story of two families that want their children married off, but the city-dwelling daughter refuses to head to Punjab and marry a village bumpkin. Sounds familiar? Perhaps some parallels can be drawn to the Akshay Kumar film, Namastey London , but it is unclear whether the plot follows a similar trajectory as the 2007 Bollywood film.
