'Private NHS' tycoon funds Leave camp.
A WEALTHY businessman who reportedly wants to privatise the NHS is bankrolling the campaign to leave the EU, figures show.
Arron Banks has given PS8million in grants and loans to Out campaigners since February, the Electoral Commission revealed.
This week it was reported the insurance tycoon - who bankrolls UKIP - told a US audience: "If it were up to me, I'd privatise the NHS."
Stronger In supporters said 85% of PS14.2million in funds handed to the Vote Leave camp came from UKIP supporters. Many are also former or current Tory donors. Labour MP Ian Mearns MP said "Tory hedge fund donors and people who want to cut taxes for the richest" were bankrolling the Leave campaign.
But the Stronger In campaign was also criticised for being largely bankrolled by hedge fund barons, City financiers and major banks.
