'Priest' is jet attack accused.

A STUDENT priest was one of five protesters who allegedly damaged a US war plane at Shannon Airport, a court heard yesterday.

Damien Moran, who worked with the Holy Ghost Fathers in Dublin, and four others, were carrying a pickaxe and hammers inscribed with anti-war slogans when they allegedly attacked the plane, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court was told.

The court heard one of the hammers was a 6ft long inflatable with the words "Hammered by the Irish" on it.

Australian Ciaran O'Reilly, who along with Moran and Scottish-born Karen Fallon from South Circular Road, Rialto Dublin, American Nuin Dunlop, from Central Dublin and Deirdre Clancy, from Clontarf, Dublin deny damaging the plane.

The hearing continues.
