'Nona' now traversing Sibuyan Sea.

Typhoon Nona (international name: Melor) has slightly weakened with winds at a maximum of 140 kph (from the previous 150 kph) and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

The cyclone is currently traversing Sibuyan Sea and is now approaching Banton island in Romblonata speed of 15 kph.

Weather agency PAGASA said estimated amount of rainfall will still be heavy (to at times intense) for areas within the 250-kilometer diameter of Nona. It is expected to pass over Mindoro provinces in the afternoon.

Public Storm Warning Signal (PSWS) #3 is hoisted over the Mindoro provinces, including Lubang Island, as well as Marinduque and Romblon.

PSWS #2 is now over at Burias Islands, Southern Quezon, Batangas and the Calamian Group of Islands, while signal number 1 is on Metro Manila, Masbate including Ticao Island, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Albay, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, Rizal, Northern Palawan, Bataan and rest of Quezon, as well as Aklan, Capiz, Antique and Iloilo.

PAGASA is expected to issue another severe weather bulletin at around 11a.m.
