'No cuts in rural areas' TRANSPORT.

THE rural transport scheme must not fall victim to Government cutbacks, it was warned yesterday.

Labour spokesman on Enterprise, Trade and Employment Willie Penrose said support is needed to help those in the countryside.

He added: "These services are vital to people residing in rural areas and they provide services for the elderly and many people who reside on their own or in isolated areas.

"So I am calling upon the Government to ensure that this important scheme is not subject to any cuts."
