'Naval cadet raped drunk girl after ball'.

A ROYAL Navy officer cadet raped a fellow student after a ball at a training college when she was "too drunk to fight back or consent", a court martial heard.

Samuel Mitchell, 27, now a sub lieutenant, is accused of attacking her at the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, Devon, on May 8 last year.

The alleged victim had been carried back to her room after drinking too much, a Portsmouth Naval Base court martial heard.

Prosecuting, David Richards said she had crossed her arms on her chest and said, "No sex" to Mitchell.

He added Mitchell "just took what he could" and that an orgasm experienced by the complainant did not indicate consent.

Mitchell denies two rape charges. The trial continues.
