RIYADH: Riyadh will host the fifth 'Made in Qatar' exhibition later this year, from Nov. 6-9, hosting the exhibition outside Qatar for the first time. Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), the organizer of the exhibition, decided to take the exhibition outside Qatar in order to introduce local industry and products at the regional level, local chamber sources said. Earlier, making an official announcement, the QCCI said, "The chamber is keen to promote the exhibition and Qatari products in the regional markets, therefore we plan to hold the exhibition in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in future to give Qatari products more promotion abroad." It said: "The expo has gained increasing importance since inception in 2009, and during the previous four editions, which has given the chamber and participants strong impetus toward achieving more success." According to the QCCI, they opted for the Kingdom for its first external launch due to the large Saudi market and the abundance of various products, in addition to its potential to have room for all types of commercial activities. The chamber said it recognizes the Kingdom's leading status in the region's political, economic, commercial and social levels. "We have seen that Saudi Arabia is the best destination for the external launch of the 'Made in Qatar' exhibition, as we have great admiration for its pioneer economic experience. Besides, Saudi Arabia is an important business partner of Qatar, and enjoys a distinguished and prestigious status, politically, economically and socially," said QCCI Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani, expressing his confidence that the exhibition will further open the door for more cooperation among Qatari and Saudi businessmen.
