'MEETING THE NEW FOOD LABELING REQUIREMENTS' CONFERENCE RESCHEDULING
"Meeting the New Food Labeling Requirements," a two-day conference on nutrition labeling rules sponsored by the Food Processors Institute, has been rescheduled for Dec. 17-18 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, 1000 H St. N.W., Washington.
The conference was originally scheduled for Nov. 16-17, following the anticipated announcement of final nutrition labeling rules by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Nov. 8. Neither FDA nor USDA published final rules on Nov. 8, but both agencies are expected to take action on the nutrition labeling regulations shortly.
At the labeling conference, speakers from FDA and USDA, state governments, legal experts, senior regulatory affairs and technical staff from the National Food Processors Association, nutrition experts, and others will provide insight and instruction on compliance with the new nutrition labeling requirements.
The Food Processors Institute (FPI) is the not-for-profit education arm of the National Food Processors Association. For more information on the labeling conference, contact Rita Fullem, FPI's executive director, at 202-393-0890.
CONTACT: Timothy Willard of the National Food Processors Association, 202-637-8060.
