'KIDS IN THE HALL BRAIN CANDY' HITS THE INFORMATION SUPER-HIGHWAY; NEW WEB PAGE OFFERS INSIDE LOOK AT SATIRIC COMEDY

HOLLYWOOD, March 7 /PRNewswire/ -- "Kids in the Hall BRAIN CANDY," a satiric comedy starring the critically acclaimed Kids in the Hall, will have its own World Wide Web page on the Internet on March 13, it was announced today. The Web site (http://www.thebig.com/braincandy) is being presented by Broadway Interactive Group (BIG), a joint venture formed by BAM! Software, an innovative interactive content developer, and Broadway Video, Lorne Michaels' leading independent television production and post-production facility. BIG is a division of Broadway Video.

"Kids in the Hall BRAIN CANDY," which opens nationwide on April 12, is a Paramount Pictures and Lakeshore Entertainment presentation of a Lorne Michaels Production. Kelly Makin directs and Lorne Michaels produces the film, which is written by Norm Hiscock & Bruce McCulloch & Kevin McDonald & Mark McKinney & Scott Thompson. The executive producers are Tom Rosenberg, Sigurjon Sighvatsson and David Steinberg, and the co-producers are Barnaby Thompson and Richard S. Wright. Paramount Pictures is part of the entertainment operations of Viacom Inc.

The "Kids in the Hall BRAIN CANDY" site on the World Wide Web will feature photographs and audio segments from the film, background information on the Kids (David Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson) and biographies of the more than 40 offbeat characters they portray in the film.

A timeline will trace the evolution of the Kids in the Hall, while an interactive contest will give Web site visitors the chance to win the film's soundtrack album, which is being released by Matador Records and features top cutting-edge artists such as Pavement, Liz Phair, The Odds and Matthew Sweet. The "Kids in the Hall BRAIN CANDY" site will also contain links to the following seven other entertaining and useful World Wide Web pages involving the Kids in the Hall either as the Kids or as individual artists.

-- Paramount Pictures Online Studio (http://www.paramount.com) features photographs and information about Paramount's motion pictures and television programs.

-- ScottLand (http://www.scottland.com) is where Internet "surfers" can become loyal subjects of the Queen of ScottLand ("Kids in the Hall BRAIN CANDY" star Scott Thompson) by acquiring citizenship in her mythical country, home to many characters created by Thompson.

-- Bruce McCulloch (http://www.atlanticrecords.com/Bruce_McCulloch), one of the stars of "Kids in the Hall BRAIN CANDY," is featured on this World Wide Web page dedicated to his "Shame-Based Man" album for Atlantic Records, a collection of short skits and musical vignettes showcasing its sharp wit and unique world view.

The Kids are making their feature debut in "Kids in the Hall BRAIN CANDY" after earning numerous awards and nominations for their critically acclaimed series, "The Kids in the Hall." First broadcast on CBC in 1989, the show has gone on to win a die-hard following on HBO, CBS and, now, Comedy Central.
