'INDECENT PROPOSAL,' WITH $10 MILLION, HOLDS ON TO NO. 1 SPOT AT BOX OFFICE FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE WEEKEND IN UNITED STATES AND CANADA

 HOLLYWOOD, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- "Indecent Proposal," starring Robert Redford, Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson, grossed $10,010,763 with 1,922 prints during the film's third weekend (April 23-25) to remain the No. 1 film in the United States and Canada, it was announced today by Barry London, president of the Motion Picture Group of Paramount Pictures. "Indecent Proposal" grossed $3,153,125 on Friday (April 23), $4,562,620 on Saturday (24), and $2,295,018 on Sunday (25). The film, which opened on Wednesday, April 7, has grossed $61,394,870 to date.
 In "Indecent Proposal," an idyllic marriage is challenged by wealthy financier John Gage, who offers David and Diana Murphy a million dollars if Diana will agree to spend one night with him. Redford, Moore and Harrelson star in a romantic drama that reunites director Adrian Lyne and producer Sherry Lansing for the first time since "Fatal Attraction."
 The screenplay by Amy Holden Jones was based upon the novel by Jack Engelhard. Co-produced by Michael Tadross and executive produced by Tom Schulman and Alex Gartner, "Indecent Proposal" is the initial project of Sherry Lansing Productions and was filmed prior to Lansing being named chairman of the Motion Picture Group of Paramount Pictures. The supporting cast includes Oliver Platt and Seymour Cassel.
 MPAA-rated R, "Indecent Proposal" is presented in Dolby Stereo in selected theaters. The soundtrack album is available on MCA Compact Discs and Cassettes.
