Barnard Castle in County Durham.

What's your dream house?

A small Georgian manor house with a long drive and walled garden.

What's your favourite part of the North East?

What is your favourite building in the North East?

Raby Castle. I have a love of history and Raby Castle is steeped in it. To be there on a summer's day, watching the cricket with the castle in the background, it conjures up everything lovely about this country.

Best holiday you've ever had?

Driving trip to southern Spain.

Favourite thing in your home?

My winner's Ready, Steady Cook plate. I won it last year and it was a brilliant experience. I'm a terrible cook but I think I got the sympathy vote.

If you could have one luxury, what would it be?

A reliable classic car.

What are you working on at the moment?

Two BBC antique shows and one BBC classic car show.

Who or what is the love of your life?

My daughter Henrietta.

Favourite shop?

The Collector, an antique shop in Barnard Castle.

The Black Bull at Moulton, Richmond. I don't go very often but when I do it's a treat. They have a fantastic fish restaurant.

Favourite pub?

The Rose and Crown at Romaldkirk, Barnard Castle.

What's the last play or film you saw?

Yes Man with Jim Carrey. It changed my life for about two weeks!

What book are you reading at the moment?

Jonathan Ross's biography.

What are you listening to on your music player at the moment?

Wings' Greatest Hits. I bought it from eBay and it reminds me of driving trips with my dad.

Favourite TV programme?

Have I Got News For You.

What are you proudest of?

My daughter.

When and where were you happiest?

Here and now, but also as a boy living in Africa.

Do you have any wisdom to share?

I read somewhere recently this quote: "To gauge how rich you are, count all the things you have that money can't buy."

What does the future hold?

Hopefully the phone will keep on ringing with some varied TV jobs.
