'Hideous plot' for US soap.

Byline: By FIONA CUMMINS

THE creator of Desperate Housewives is bracing himself for a backlash after Bree Van De Kamp's rebel son exacts a "hideous" revenge on her.

Marc Cherry has revealed that Andrew's behaviour is so shocking it will be "about as bad as anything on TV".

Bree, played by Marcia Cross, and her son have always had a difficult relationship, especially since she sent him off to a camp for delinquents.

Cherry said: "Andrew resents her tremendously. He's going to get back at her. We've got something just hideous planned. I'm going to get letters."

But he refused to be drawn on the "great secret" of the second series, which started in the US this week and will be shown in the UK on Channel 4 in January.

Meanwhile, Friends star Courteney Cox, 41, is said to be negotiating a cameo role in the show, playing a mental home escapee.
