'He fully deserves to spend long time in prison' RYAN MURDER TRIAL.

"RYAN Hawkins was an innocent young boy who had a happy childhood."

That's the view of Det Supt Tim Forber, of West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry team, who led the investigation.

He said: "His life was taken from him by the very person who he trusted and should have protected him. Like me, every parent must wonder how on earth someone could do this to their own children.

"Whilst his sister has made a full recovery from her physical injuries, the emotional impact of what happened that day will undoubtedly remain with her for the rest of her life.

"Christopher Hawkins is an extremely dangerous individual. The investigation revealed he had a history of personality disorder and was prone to violent outbursts. He has shown no remorse whatsoever in this case.

"Despite overwhelming evidence he refused to acknowledge his responsibility for his actions, and forced his daughter to relive her terrible ordeal from the witness box.

"He fully deserves to spend a long time in prison for this dreadful crime."
