'Green' Vehicle Caravan to Drive Through Missouri.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MoDNR) recently announced that a caravan of alternative fuel and hybrid electric vehicles will be making its way through the state early next month as part of "Drive Clean and Green Across Missouri," an event sponsored by MoDNR's Energy Center and the St. Louis Regional Clean Cities and Kansas City Clean Cities coalitions.

According to MoDNR, the caravan, the goal of which is to educate the state's citizens on the benefits of fuel economy and the use of renewable and alternative fuels to help save money, limit oil imports and reduce greenhouse gases, is being funded by the Department of Energy.

MoDNR noted that the event will kick off April 5 at the St. Louis Science Center and conclude April 8 at the Discovery Center in Kansas City, making stops along the way in Wentzville, Columbia, Jefferson City, Rolla, Lebanon, Springfield and Warrensburg.

During the event, MoDNR said it will provide information on alternative fuel and hybrid technologies, efficient driving techniques and transportation alternatives, as well as information from the Environmental Protection Agency on green vehicles.
