'Don't be late', say Guinness world record inspectors ahead of...

The National Day Union Car Parade is rapidly approaching and event organisers DMG events and Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) are calling for participants to be on time.

With over 3,000 vehicles expected all participants must be on-site by 12pm ready for inspection in order to meet strict Guinness World Record rules. Inspection will close at 2.30pm following which no further entries will be considered.

The current world record stands at 300 decorated cars and those wishing to help beat the standing must decorate their car in the UAE colours on at least two sides of their vehicle; either the roof, the bonnet, the entire left or right hand side of the car, and each part of the decorated side of the car must be completely covered.

On the day, Guinness World Record will inspect each car and only those complying with the conditions will be selected to participate in the record attempt. Once all the participating cars have been chosen, they will be led by members of Abu Dhabi Police and a pace car, decorated in the UAE colours and donated by Western Motors on a parade route starting at du Forum and cover more than 3.5 kilometres.

Creativity in designs and patterns is encouraged for the parade, as the three most creative cars will be displayed within the 'UAE's Best Dressed Car' feature at the Speed & Power event of the Life & Style Show UAE. Speed & Power is one of six events at the show, the others being Home & Living, Fashion & Beauty, Gizmos, Gadgets & Tech, Sport & Leisure and Toys, Hobbies & Games with over 17 other feature areas.
