'Craziest' ravers heading for barn.

HUNDREDS of dance music fans are to converge on a farm outside Merthyr at the end for a month for a massive rave - held in a barn.

Rave In A Barn will be staged by the Cardiff dance music promoter famed for hosting raves in a bank vault in one of the city's most historic buildings.

Cellar Door, who have hosted parties for the best part of a decade, are well known for the underground dance events they threw at the former bank vault in the Grade II listed Portland House in Cardiff Bay.

The promoter has now branched out with dance music events across the south Wales Valleys.

Their latest endeavour, which Cellar Door's DJ Jimpy describes as their "craziest party to date", is called Rave In A Barn and is exactly that.

"Fern Hill Farm will see a mid afternoon to late night event inside their big barn," he explained.

"The Cellar Door sound and lighting crews from SR Productions and Spartan Audio will be bringing the best sound and visuals to transform the barn into a typically intense Cellar Door event space where the resident Undercover DJs and friends will be building the night from house music into a crescendo of techno, with the odd club and rave classic thrown in for good measure.

Jimpy has been involved with the south Wales dance music scene since the early 90's infamous Hippo Club and later Enter the Dragon at Vision 2k.

He also had tracks featured on hugely popular mix albums from Sasha, and Paul van Dyk as well making the DJ Magazine Top 100.

The event is on September 29.
