'CONEHEADS' SIGHTED AND HEADING TOWARD THEATERS THIS SUMMER

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Principal photography has been completed on "Coneheads," starring Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin, Michael McKean, Michelle Burke and Laraine Newman for the Motion Picture Group of Paramount Pictures, it was announced by John Goldwyn, president of the Motion Picture Group, Production. Produced by Lorne Michaels, the comedy was directed by Steve Barron from a screenplay written by Tom Davis & Dan Aykroyd and Bonnie Turner & Terry Turner. Michael Rachmil is the executive producer.
Based on the characters made famous in the classic "Saturday Night Live" sketches, Aykroyd and Curtin reprise their roles as Beldar and Prymaat Conehead, alien immigrants seeking acceptance and anonymity in suburban America. The comedy was filmed on locations in Los Angeles, at Paramount Studios in Hollywood and on the streets of New York City.
Co-starring in "Coneheads" are McKean as the relentless Immigration Agent Seedling and newcomer Burke as the Coneheads' 16- year-old daughter Connie. Newman, who originated the role of Connie on "SNL," is featured as Prymaat's sister, Laarta.
From the current spate of talented "SNL" regulars, producer Michaels drew upon the comedic skills of co-stars Chris Farley, who plays Connie's boyfriend Ronnie, and David Spade as Seedling's devoted assistant. Other "SNL" regulars include Phil Hartman, Kevin Nealon, Julia Sweeney, Adam Sandler, Ellen Cleghorne and Tim Meadows.
Jason Alexander and Lisa Jane Persky play the Coneheads' next- door neighbors, the Farbers, in Paramus, N.J., with Sinbad and Shishir Kurup as Beldar's first employers. Completing the supporting cast are Jan Hooks, Dave Thomas, Parker Posey and Joey Adams. Other cameos include Garrett Morris, Brian Doyle Murray, Michael Richards, Eddie Griffin, Ellen De Generes, Drew Carey and Tom Davis.
"Coneheads" has been set for a July 23 release.
