'CHECK-IN' AND 'CHECK-OUT' SPEEDED BY ITT SHERATON WITH EXPRESSPASS LAUNCH

'CHECK-IN' AND 'CHECK-OUT' SPEEDED BY ITT SHERATON
 WITH EXPRESSPASS LAUNCH
BOSTON, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- ITT Sheraton Corporation will virtually eliminate the guest check-in and check-out process under a new frequent traveler program benefit being launched February 1, at 35 ITT Sheraton properties in North America.
Called ExpressPass(SM), the benefit is being offered free of charge to members of ITT Sheraton's frequent guest program, ITT Sheraton Club International (SCI).
"Research has shown that time is our guests' most precious commodity, and check-in and check-out take more of their time than they would like," said John W. Herold, Jr., ITT Sheraton Corporation executive vice president and president-North America Operations.
"As SCI ExpressPass members, our guests will not be required to complete any forms upon check-in, and they can simply depart from the hotel when ready, rather than checking out in the traditional manner."
All of the guests' important data -- including credit card billing information -- is stored in Reservatron IV, the company's centralized reservation system.
Upon arrival at the hotel, SCI ExpressPass members will be given a key to a pre-assigned room after showing their SCI membership identification or other valid ID. Time-consuming paperwork will be eliminated. To check out, guests can simply leave, knowing that a receipt will be mailed to them within 24 hours. Other quick, convenient alternatives to checking out at the front desk are accessing in-room video check-out or using the receipt which is delivered the night prior to departure.
Herold said that ITT Sheraton is so confident that guests will be satisfied with ExpressPass that it is offering a service guarantee: $50 in cash to any dissatisfied SCI ExpressPass member.
The participating 35 hotels are in major markets in North America including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Boston, New Orleans, Seattle, Toronto and Montreal.
Herold said the company plans to expand ExpressPass if customers respond favorably. "I expect they will," Herold added.
Frequent travelers can join SCI by calling 1-800-247-CLUB (2582). Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-325-3535 or by having a travel agent call the special ITT Sheraton number for travel agents, 1-800-334-8484 in the U.S. and Canada.
ITT Sheraton Corporation, a subsidiary of ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT), is a worldwide network of nearly 450 owned, leased, managed and franchised properties operating in 62 countries.
