'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' stars thank fans in show's 20th year.
Some of the celebrities who appeared in the hit supernatural series, which aired from 1997 to 2003, posted their simple 'Thank You' to their fans on social media, with the hashtag #buffyslays20.
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who led the cast as the fun and bubbly Buffy Summer, posted a throwback photo featuring one of the show's iconic scenes. 'Let's party like it's my birthday,' she tweeted on Saturday.

Josh Whedon, who created the show, also posted a heartwarming tribute to the show's loyal fans.

Nicholas Brandon, who played the teen heartthrob Xander Harris in the series, reminisced how his life has changed since being part of the horror-drama flick.

James Marsters played the role of Spike, Buffy's vampire foe who became her flame in the next episodes. He also appeared in the show's 1999 spin-off, 'Angel.' 'Dear Buffy, Happy Anniversary!
