'Bed tax' lie-in protest.

ANGRY Butlins guests are to stage a lie-in to protest against the proposed new "bed tax" which could add up to pounds 150 to the price of an average family holiday.

Guests at the three Butlins resorts in Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness are being invited to take part in John and Yoko-style bed-ins.

They will stay in bed for an extra hour and sign a petition opposing the proposed legislation.

The new tax, proposed by the Lyons Inquiry into the funding and function of local government, would put a 10% extra levy on all overnight stays, in addition to VAT.
