'BUY AMERICAN' STILL TOP OF MIND -- AND POCKET --
 AT MIAMI'S WAINBERG, ZIPPER, STRAUSS
MIAMI, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Although the "Buy American" campaign has slipped from everyday consciousness in recent months, one Miami CPA firm is keeping its patriotic commitment to give a cash bonus to employees who purchase American-made automobiles.
Henry Spil, a CPA with Wainberg, Zipper, Strauss & Co. in Miami, received a $500 bonus when he purchased a new, 1992 Lincoln-Mercury Grand Marquis earlier this month. The west Dade resident says he knew he needed a new car, and the program definitely provided incentive to purchase it during 1992.
"The bonus program most definitely factored into my purchase decision," Spil said. "Although you never really know how much you can knock off the price of a car, you always include any form of rebate when you calculate your bottom-line cost. Unlike those nebulous dealer 'rebates,' this bonus was a direct, 'bottom line' benefit to my pocket."
Managing partner Salomon Wainberg says the firm will continue the incentive program, providing a $500 bonus to employees purchasing a new American car, and a $250 bonus for the purchase of a used American car.
