'Autumn' matches; & COMMENT DEBATE YOUR LETTERS TO THE NATIONAL NEWSPAPER OF WALES.

| SIR - Why are the autumn rugby internationals being played in November and December? This is the time of year when many communities come together to start the Christmas preparations and celebrations and when events such as Christmas fairs are held.

As the Welsh people are obsessed with rugby the majority therefore watch it and either celebrate or drown their sorrows. This means that other events are adversely affected.

During the spring months the SIx Nations and cup competitions take centre stage, which is fair enough.

But now it is creeping to become a year-round game. The reason for this is obviously financial, which is such a pity because other cultural events are adversely affected and this is damaging to communities throughout Wales.

Rugby has no place at the Christmas table.

These autumn internationals should not take place later than mid-November.
