'Are these two for real?'.

TV CRITICS have been having a field day with the Armstrongs.

This is how the Mirror's Jane Simon viewed the opener...

"ARE these two for real?

"Incredible as it sounds, the answer is yes. U-Fit - run by John and Ann Armstrong - really is Coventry's third largest double-glazing firm.

"But after this, they'll either be the biggest double-glazing company in the Midlands, or they'll pack up their business to become the new Laurel and Hardy.

"Tonight sees them expanding into Europe, which inspires John to compare U-Fit to the Roman Empire.

"John's mother tongue is, of course, Asbo-Saxon. But the fact that neither he nor Ann can speak a word of French between them doesn't stop them driving all the way to the south of France."
