'A MIDDLEMAN ... A FIXER' Facey on corruption charges.

FORMER Town and Premier League soccer star Delroy Facey was accused of trying to recruit players for a match-fixing scam.

A court heard the Huddersfield man was a "middleman" for two Far East men who have already been convicted of bribery charges.

The striker, who denies conspiracy charges, was said to have become involved in the 'ugly side' of football. "He was a middleman, a fixer," said prosecutor Nick Mather at the start of a three-week trial.
