' Badmash' singer Chang jigs his way to another trophy.

A DENTIST by profession and Indian Idol 2 contestant Meiyang Chang, who also had a brush with Bollywood, has finally established himself as a dancing star.

Chang, dentist- turned- singer- turnedactor, has won the much- hyped reality dance show Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa 4 . Tuesday evening's grand finale saw Chang beat the competition from Czech modelitem girl Yana Gupta and TV star Sushant Singh Rajput to take home the winner's trophy and a cash prize of ` 50 lakh.

Chang and his choreographer Maricha were handed the trophy by judges Madhuri Dixit, Malaika Arora Khan and Remo D'Souza.

" Unlike Indian Idol , this wasn't easy for me. I am a trained singer, so participating in Indian Idol wasn't stressful. On Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa , I had to learn dancing in each new episode and then strive to give my best performance," Chang, 29, who hails from Jharkhand, said.

In the initial episodes, Chang had let down choreographer Remo several times for not being swift with his moves. However, once Chang got into the groove with Maricha, they presented some of the most innovative performances in the contest.

Besides showing off his prowess with contemporary Bollywood dances, Chang also impressed the judges and voters with salsa and jazz moves. A highlight performance by Chang on the show was his traditional Naga dance.

In some episodes, Madhuri would go on to appreciate Chang as an " extremely consistent and energetic" performer. In the finale rounds, Malaika said: " Chang is a rockstar who is always in a mood to win." Chang's victory surprised many because Sushant, who has been consistently in form, was expected to win.

Chang, however, looked more impressive in the finale -- performing a contemporary Bollywood number to a medley of film hits.

" Sushant was indeed the guy to beat. He was consistently brilliant on the show," Chang said.

Chang is now in a mood to celebrate. " I will start off by partying hard with the prize money. For the last three months, endless rehearsals and dancing have driven all of us crazy," the affable winner said.

Chang had made his Bollywood debut last year as Shahid Kapoor's pal in Yash Raj's Badmash Company . Chang has also hosted shows such as The Chair and donned the role of a cricket presenter during IPL matches in the past.

Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa is the Indian adaptation of the international hit series Dancing With The Stars , where the dancing skills of celebrities are judged.

In its fourth season, it boasted of a remarkable increase in TRPs largely because of the presence of Madhuri as one of the judges.
