$800,000 IN STATE FUNDS SUPPORT PANTHER CREEK PROJECT
HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Gov. Robert P. Casey today

approved an $800,000 grant to help the Carbon County Redevelopment Authority improve the infrastructure serving the Green Acres Industrial Park, Nesquehoning Borough.
The Carbon County Redevelopment Authority will receive funds from the state's Business Infrastructure Development program to build an access road, rail spur, water and sewer lines and water storage facilities to serve the industrial park and its tenants.
"Industrial parks like Green Acres are able to attract manufacturing and industrial firms and the jobs they bring, because Pennsylvania provides businesses with the assistance they need," Casey said.
Panther Creek Partners is contributing $1.2 million towards infrastructure improvements at the industrial park.
In addition, the Redevelopment Authority has received three tentative commitments from businesses interested in locating in the park pending completion of the infrastructure improvement project.
Panther Creek Partners is constructing an 80 watt power production facility, consisting of an anthracite culm-fired power plant, electrical interconnection and fuel processing facilities in the industrial park, creating 93 jobs over the next three years.
