$2.43 MILLION TRUCK SIMULATOR CONTRACT AWARDED
TO PERCEPTRONICS AND FAAC JOINT VENTURE
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Perceptronics Inc. (NASDAQ: PERC) announced today that Professional Truckdriving Simulators (PTDS), its 50/50 joint venture with FAAC Inc. of Ann Arbor, Mich., has received a contract for approximately $2.43 million to supply 10 Driver Skill Trainers (DST) to the U.S. Army.
As previously reported, the contract will use PTDS' commercial TT150 truck driving simulator to meet the Army's DST requirement. The units and related support services will be delivered to U.S. Army Training sites over a period of 12 months.
Perceptronics will book approximately $570,000 for subcontractor work on the program, involving production of simulator cabs, electronics and sound systems, system integration of the simulator units and associated support services.
"We are pleased to see this long-awaited contract finally arrive," said Dr. Gershon Weltman, Perceptronics' chairman and chief executive officer. "It makes PTDS the sole supplier of fully interactive truck driving simulators to the U.S. Army and puts the venture in a lead position for U.S. and international truck driving simulator sales. PTDS is pressing forward with its TT150 marketing to commercial trucking companies and government agencies, success with which will benefit Perceptronics both in subcontractor revenues and shared profits."
Perceptronics is engaged in research and development and in the manufacture and marketing of computer-based simulation software and systems for commercial and military training and decision support.
