 DUE 2002 OFFERED BY AMSCO INTERNATIONAL, INC. AT 100 PERCENT
 PITTSBURGH, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- AMSCO International, Inc. (NYSE: ASZ) announced today the public offering of $100,000,000 of 4+percent/6+percent step-up convertible subordinated debentures due 2002 at 100 percent.
 The initial coupon on the debentures will be 4+percent and will be paid for three years, after which the coupon will step up to 6+percent for the last seven years. The debentures will be redeemable at the option of the company in certain instances beginning after the third anniversary of their issuance. The debentures are convertible into common stock of AMSCO at a conversion price of $30.10 a share.
 The step-up convertible subordinated debentures due 2002 have been rated BBB-minus by Standard & Poor's Corp. and Ba1 by Moody's Investor Service, Inc.
 This offering is being underwritten by J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and Alex Brown & Sons Incorporated.
