#ONEHOURHERO challenge - can you help?

DURING National Hospice Care Week, Zoe's Place focused on the provision of respite care.

Each hour of care at of Zoe's Place Baby Hospice in Coventry costs PS25 per child. One hour of respite means that a child is safe, cared for and stimulated by specialist staff in our home-from-home environment. This gives a family the chance to rest, talk, complete jobs and simply relax.

We launched a challenge called One Hour Hero where people were asked to find ways of spending just one hour to raise funds to pay for one hour of respite care. Volunteers took part in cake sales, jewellery sales, toy stalls and mud runs - to name a few.

The idea really took off. During Hospice Care Week, October 9 to 15, volunteers raised more than PS1,000 - with more events still planned.

We hope to repeat the One Hour Hero Challenge in the New Year. Will you take on the challenge? Can you put on a fundraiser for one hour (or thereabouts!) to raise one hours' worth of care? Email
