"The attack against theatre men, a glaring violation of the freedom of opinion and creativity" says Presidency of Republic.

CARTHAGE (TAP) - The Presidency of the Republic strongly denounced the attacks last Sunday, at the capital's Habib Bourguiba Avenue, by salafis against participants in the celebration of World Theatre Day.

In a statement published on Tuesday evening, the Presidency expressed support to and solidarity with artists and more particularly the theatre community in view of the "glaring violation of the freedom of opinion and creativity."

Furthermore the Presidency announced that it started fitting out the ancient theatre of Carthage to organise shows, expressing commitment to open it as soon as possible.
