"Saab" story.

"Saab" Story

This whisper is two-fold. First, we learned Walt Bennett Ford-Saab has dropped the Saab line.

"It is true they have terminated, with an effective date of Jan. 7," says a Saab spokesperson. "No other dealer has filled the hole yet." Walt Bennett acquired the dealership in December 1981.

If you're driving one of the Swedish cars now and need service, or want to buy one, you can go to one of 343 U.S. dealers, the closest being Memphis, Shreveport or Tulsa.

We heard Saab wanted Walt Bennett to buy a pricey computer system their dealers use, and Walt Bennett either didn't want to, or couldn't, make the financial commitment. Which brings us to part two of this whisper.
