"Leather Flooring" latest concept in floorings launched by IDUS.

New Delhi, Delhi, April 24 -- We never thought it would be possible, but it's true. You can now have not just a leather couch but a leather floor as well. But yes, heat and humidity are concerns, so you can only use it in air-conditioned, lowtraffic areas such as bedrooms or studies.

Leather floors in high moisture areas such as kitchens and bathrooms are an absolute no-no. If you're worried that your furniture will cause scratches and ugly marks on the leather floor, don't be. "The top layer of leather flooring has very high-resistance PU protection to prevent cuts and scratches. But obviously, sharp objects can put scratches on any surface, so you need to ensure that you don't drag your furniture across it and keep pointed objects away," says Mr. Sameer hora, director of Delhi furniture store IDUS.

Really, the beauty of leather lies in the fact that it only gets better with age; the more it wears, the more character it collects-much like your favourite leather jacket. The only thing you need to be careful about is the use of water around it. Don't worry about accidental spills-just wipe the affected area dry with a damp cloth. Like any other kind of flooring, leather floors require regular cleaning or vacuuming. And waxing it thoroughly once or twice a year helps maintain the sheen. Prices start from Rs 700 per sq ft.
