The magazine is being targeted to "established, sophisticated" advisors, including brokers/dealers, financial and investment advisors, attorneys, and executives in the securities brokerage, banking, insurance and accounting industries. Its mission is to "create compelling content that will empower advisors to elevate their practices and help clients realize their life goals," the company said.
Charter said editorial is designed to introduce new approaches to helping clients with their financial and personal goals. The magazine will include coverage of such issues as college funding, second careers, divorce, charitable giving, business succession, retirement, and estate and legacy planning. The September/October issue had stories on disclosure standards, investing alternatives, exchange--traded funds, when to open qualified retirement plans, the potential effects of a repeal of the estate tax, and practice management.
The company has also launched two other publications. The Dow Jones Journal of Indexing is a quarterly publication that provides news and information in the field of indexing and the debate over active v. passive management. Investment Consulting News is a monthly paid subscription newsletter that carries information on investment-management consulting and separately-managed accounts. Also, the company will launch Nick Murray Interactive, a monthly newsletter described as a "journal of ideas and interactive access to the industry's most admired authorized speaker" in January.
