"CRIMEWATCH NEW JERSEY" ENCORE PRESENTATION TO AIR STATEWIDE ON CABLE: CAR JACKING AND AUTO THEFT TOPIC

TRENTON, N.J., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- An encore airing of the first edition of "CrimeWatch New Jersey," a new series on the Cable Television Network of New Jersey, can be seen statewide next week on CTN. The program focuses on auto theft and car jacking in an attempt to inform New Jerseyans about the issue and how to protect themselves.
The series is a joint project between the New Jersey Cable Television Association, Attorney General Robert J. Del Tufo and the Cable Television Network of New Jersey. "CrimeWatch New Jersey" will cover a wide variety of topics to help prevent crime and make viewers aware of the top law enforcement issues of the day.
The first edition of "CrimeWatch New Jersey" can be seen on CTN Tuesday, April 27 from 2-3 a.m. and again on Thursday, April 29th from 1-2 p.m. Consult your local listings for the CTN channel in your viewing area.
"We are happy that the New Jersey Cable Television Association has asked us to join them in this new venture," Del Tufo said. "This show will give the people of New Jersey an insight into how law enforcement is combating crime and what the citizens of this state can do to avoid being the victim of crime."
Future editions of "CrimeWatch New Jersey" will air the third Tuesday of each month from 7-8 p.m. on CTN. CTN, New Jersey's statewide cable channel, is a service of the state's cable industry.
"Crime is an issue which concerns New Jerseyans in every part of our state -- north and south, urban, suburban and rural," said Frank DeJoy, president of the New Jersey Cable Television Association. "With CTN, we can reach every part of the state with invaluable crime prevention information from the law enforcement community. The cable industry is pleased to use our resources to keep the public informed on this critical issue."
Guests on the first program included Gov. Jim Florio, Attorney General Del Tufo, Union County Prosecutor Andrew Ruotolo, members of the Union County/Essex County Auto Theft Task Force and experts on crime prevention from the New Jersey Crime Prevention Officers Association and the New Jersey State Police. They will offer important tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of carjacking and auto theft.
The program also included a segment on New Jersey's Most Wanted Fugitive. Each month the program will feature one of the 12 most wanted suspects sought by the New Jersey State Police. There are also segments featuring missing children.
