"Avengers" Director Joss Whedon Mocks Mitt Romney In Fake PSA [VIDEO].
Romney just received such an endorsement from "Avengers" mastermind and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" creator Joss Whedon, but it won't be the type of celebrity support that leaves him beaming.
Under the guise of a pro-Romney PSA, Whedon's satirical video mocks Romney's politics, likening his potential presidency to a zombie apocalypse.
"Mitt Romney is a very different candidate," he says. "One with the vision and determination to cut through business-as-usual politics, and finally put this country on the path to the zombie apocalypse."
According to Whedon, it's Romney's commitment to government rollbacks in areas like health care, education, reproductive rights, and social services that will pave the way for mass unemployment, poverty, overpopulation, and diseaseaall essential ingredients, he says, in turning America into a "zombie wasteland."
The one percent, Whedon says, will be useless when the zombie apocalypse arrives. Instead, Whedon urges viewers to trust people who know how to run, fight, or do Parkour.
How does Romney feel about the zombie apocalypse? According to Whedon, he's all for it.
"Mitt's ready," Whedon gags. "He's not afraid to face a ravening, grasping horde of sub-humans, because that's how he sees poor people already."
Whedon's tongue-in-cheek video satires are nothing new. Earlier this year he produced another facetious monologue that urged audiences to stay away from Mike Birbiglia's independent film "Sleepwalk With Me" because its 80-theatre release could affect his "Avengers" 4,000-cinema box office gross.
When not playing satirist or superhero director, Whedon is an ardent supporter of President Obama's. In the past, he's donated heavily to the President's Victory Fund.
