In 1950, WSF designed and manufactured its first Rapidoor quick-access closure, and thousands are now in use worldwide. Fabrication is performed to standards of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code where applicable.

WSF defines an autoclave as a pressure vessel with an access door in which any of an infinite number of variable non-ambient conditions such as heat, pressure, temperature, time and moisture can be utilized, individually or in combinations, upon the contents of the vessel.
