togglethis Has Big Success With New Line Cinema's "Lost in Space" Promotion; togglethis generates a 33% click through rate and 100,000 users.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 1998--togglethis(tm), the recognized leader in Interactive Character Technology(tm), announced that its New Line Cinema "Lost in Space" film promotion has been the company's most successful online marketing promotion to date. More than 100,000 online users got the "toggled" "Lost In Space" robot from www.dangerwillrobinson.com and received the five part e-mail cartoon promoting the feature film.

New Line Cinema deployed the interactive toggled Robot to market the box office hit "Lost In Space," which bumped Titanic Titanic (tītăn`ĭk), British liner that sank on the night of Apr. 14–15, 1912, after crashing into an iceberg in the N Atlantic S of Newfoundland.  Robot with his trademark line, "Danger, Will Robinson “Danger, Will Robinson!” is an English catch phrase derived from the classic 1960s American television series Lost in Space. The phrase characterizes the relationship between two of its regular characters, the Robot and Will Robinson over the course of several , Danger" appeared in a series of five, 60-second interactive cartoons available via e-mail.

At the end of each episode the "Lost In Space" Robot, acting as a "desktop portal" drove users back online to designated web sites, including an entertainment site and the official "Lost In Space" site. When the movie opened nationally on April 3, the toggled Robot delivered 33 percent of viewers to an online entertainment site to find out show-times and where the film was playing locally. Click through numbers for the toggled Robot campaign averaged 25 percent overall, while most banner ads A graphic image used on Web sites to advertise a product or service. Banner ads come in numerous sizes, but are often rectangles 460 pixels wide by 60 pixels high.
